Pyrophosphate piperazine is an intumescent halogen-free eco-friendly flame retardant. It utilizes phosphorus and nitrogen as flame retardant elements and functions by forming an intumescent char layer to block oxygen and heat sources. Compared to halogen-based flame retardants, it exhibits low smoke and low toxicity, fully complying with the EU's Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS Directive) and environmental regulations such as REACH.
Pyrophosphate piperazine boasts exceptional flame retardant efficiency, requiring lower additive levels than ammonium polyphosphate-based intumescent flame retardants. Additionally, it possesses a high thermal decomposition temperature, allowing it to withstand higher processing temperatures. This compound exhibits high purity, superior processing properties with easy dispensing and no bridging, excellent product appearance free from agglomerated white spots, and outstanding heat aging resistance and anti-extraction properties.
